US Premier Event - Siren of Sahel Shines
Clara Lawson Ames has been honored by the African fashion industry with an African Diamond Award, presented in Sun City, South Africa, as well as, a Biz Africa Award conferred by the World Confederation of Business in Dakar, Senegal. She is the president and founder of the non-profit Association for Supporting the Development of Art Dressing and Textiles, Africa (ASDAVTA). In addition to bringing a greater awareness and appreciation for African culture and design to the forefront, Ms. Lawson Ames also provides a venue where emerging African fashion designers can showcase their own fashions. She has selected four such designers to participate in the “Siren of Sahel Shines".
